I joined Computing Devices as a Senior Engineering Technician, working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment focused on the development of advanced electronic systems. My initial responsibilities included the design and development of video processing circuitry, power supply electronics, and the creation of electronic schematics using computer-aided design tools.
As my role developed, I became involved in the design and development of specialised automatic test equipment (ATE) for a complex video processing product. This work required the design of analogue and digital electronic circuits, schematic capture, and close collaboration with PCB layout engineers to develop high-performance multilayer printed circuit boards.
Working alongside hardware designers and PCB specialists, I contributed throughout the product development process, ensuring that designs met technical, manufacturing, and testing requirements. The project provided valuable experience in high-speed video electronics, circuit design, PCB development, and engineering collaboration within a professional product development environment.
This position further strengthened my expertise in electronic hardware design, schematic capture, product verification, and the development of complex electronic systems, while reinforcing the importance of teamwork and engineering best practices in delivering reliable commercial products.
